Aggression

For all your general day to day bearded dragon chat, that maybe doesn't sit naturally in any of the other sections.

Aggression

My beardie is just ten weeks old and has become really aggressive when i am trying to pick him up. If I get within six inches of him he tries to bite and attack. This doesn't make me afraid and the biting doesn't hurt but how can i get him to calm down?

have you got your beady in a tank or a viv because if you have your beardy in a tank and you reach in to grab your beardy it might feel theatened and scared. Does your beardy inflate its beardy and open its mouth and make a hissing noise ? If so then it feels threatened and scared or even cornered. :?: :?:

He is in a vivarium and does open his mouth but no hissing! Good news though he has started feeding out of my hand but still no luck in holding him yet!

Have lowered the temp to 85 celcius and he has calmed down a little bit but still can't pick him up!

Here we are and my beardie is now eleven weeks old and has calmed down dramatically and is quite happy to be handled. I moved the viv into another room where the surround sound is nowhere near his viv and I lowered the temp in there by a full ten degrees! Hand feeding him meal worms has really gained his trust and he is becoming a real little character, (the cat is even wary of him). My eleven year old daughter is chuffed to bits with little Timmy :? . Thanks for everyones advice and i'll keep you all posted on his development! (If he is a he, :D lol).
